Estherella Personious age 96, of Ovid, MI passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. and Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.

Estherella was born in Sunfield, MI on February 16, 1920 the daughter of Charles Nathan and Velma Clellan (Flewelling) Holton.  She married Alfred Personious on November 5, 1938 in Angola, IN.  She was a cashier at Goff Food Store in East Lansing for many years. She loved her big family get togethers when she could cook, and NOBODY could cook like Estherella!  She loved to play games, especially Skip-bo and marbles.  She won many awards for her crochet work, especially her Victorian Dolls and doilies and was an expert seamstress making clothing, quilts, toys, dolls, and more. Estherella and Alfred moved to the Ovid area in 1946. She faithfully attended Grove Bible Church for many years until she was no longer able to attend.

She is survived by her children: Estherella "Kay" Osborn of Ashley, MI, and Delbert (Judith) Personious of Ovid, MI, daughter in law Ginny Personious of Holt, MI, grandchildren: Ellen Wilcox, Stephen (Toni) Mead, Kevin (Katie) Personious, Timothy (Judy) Personious, Shauna Nelson, Randy Personious, Sharre Elliott, 14 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, and Makenna Cowley her only great great great grandchild, special niece Sandra Holton Smith-Kennell and lots and lots of neices and nephews.  Estherella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred, son Allen, grandson Charles Cowley, and siblings: Pauline Vedder, Elwin (Edna) Holton, mother-in-law Laura White, and brothers-in-law; Charles and Delbert Personious.
