Eugene Morrison

Eugene A. Morrison, age 79, of Ithaca, Michigan passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan.  There will be no formal funeral service.

Eugene was born in Alpena, Michigan on February 26, 1936, the son of Hugh and Vera (Denman) Morrison. On June 22, 1957 he married Janet Hofstetter in Lake Odessa, Michigan.  He was a mechanic for McKinley Trucking in Carson City, Michigan retiring in 2004.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bowling and tinkering in his garage on his golf cart and other projects.  Eugene resided most of his life in Gratiot County, Michigan. He was a member of the Teamster Union, and The Muzzle Loading Gun Club.

He is survived by his wife Janet Morrison of Ithaca, MI, 2 daughters; Sue and Pat Lane of Pompeii, MI, and Lesa Beard of Ithaca, MI, 1 son Robert and Terri Morrison of Ithaca, MI, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 7 half sisters and brothers.  He was predeceased by his parents, 1 son Larry Morrison, 2 brothers, and one half sister.
