Eugene Howard Schollaert

     Eugene Howard Schollaert, age 81, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at The Laurels of Carson City, Carson City, Michigan with his family by his side.
     A Celebration of Life for Eugene, will be held at Ithaca Community Center, 120 North Maple Street, Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 P.M. The family requests you bring a dish to pass.
     Eugene was born in Flint, Michigan on February 23, 1943, the son of Joseph Carl and Ruth Irene (Cramer) Schollaert.
     Eugene enjoyed gardening and tinkering with cars. He also liked to fish, hunt, and shopping for antiques. He loved his family, especially picking on the grandchildren.
     He is survived by his lifelong partner Janet Schollaert, five children: Ronald Schollaert, Sally Kelley, Jeffery (Angela) Schollaert, Amanda Welch, and Christina (David) LaFreniere; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister Sharon Bush, brother Lee (Carol) Schollaert, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Schollaert, mother Ruth (Kenneth) Mills, daughters: Vena Hendrickson and Wendy Bywater; brothers: Al, Donald, Bruce, and Kenneth Jr; and infant sister Dianne.
