Eula FredWiegman

Eula Elaine DeGurse Wiegman, 89, went home to be with the Lord on November 12th, 2011, 28 days after the death of her husband, Fred Britten Wiegman, of 68 years. They had resided in Bradenton, FL for 18 years.

Eula was a native Ovidite. She was born to Euna Elizabeth Yariger and Robert Leon DeGurse on March 3, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sibling, Captain Stanley Robert DeGurse. She graduated from Michigan State Normal College with a Bachelor of Science degree in early elementary education. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Eula loved the water and was an expert swimmer. She and Fred found great pleasure in playing bridge with many of their friends.

Eula was a lady of great faith. She loved and served her church, Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Bradenton, in many ways. She was a dedicated Women's Circle member, as well as being the greeter coordinator for 9 years.

She was the beloved Mother of three children: Gloria "Gigi" Wiegman of Bradenton, FL, Lynne Ann Lester (Patrick) of Mount Airy, NC, and Stanley "Fritz" Wiegman of Highlands Ranch, CO. She will greatly missed by her 5 surviving grandchildren. She is survived by one great-grandchild. Eula was well loved by her extended family and special friends.

A graveside burial for both Eula and Fred will be conducted at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid, MI on June 23rd, 2012 at 11:00 am. All are welcome to come and rejoice with the family as they celebrate both Eula and Fred's lives. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service at The United Church of Ovid.
