Eva M. Harwood age 96 of Owosso, Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Oliver Woods. She was born in Lincoln Township, Osceola County, Michigan on March 4, 1912 the daughter of Merle & C. Maude (Tribe) Wing.
She attended Wilson School and then moved to Cadillac in 1924. She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1929 and Wexford County Normal in 1930. She taught at Mewautaka for three years.
On September 16, 1933 she married Donald Harwood and moved to East Tawas, Michigan where they lived until 1944. Since 1944 she has resided in the Owosso area. Eva was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the WSCS for over fifty years. Eva was active in several bridge groups in the area for several years. She also was a longtime member of the Progressive Extension group. She loved listening to sports, especially the Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by sons; Ron & Kay Harwood of Portage, Michigan, Jim & Carol Harwood of Evart, Michigan; Grandchildren, Tom & Gina Harwood of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Mike Harwood of Chicago, Illinois, Mary Kay Mooney & John of Anticoch, California, Chris & Vicki Harwood of Wyoming, Michigan, and David & Jodie Harwood of Midland, Michigan, Matt Harwood & Missey, Katie Stoddard & Keith, Ben Harwood, Joe Harwood, Sara Harwood, Nick Mooney, Noah Harwood, Nik Harwood, Cydney Harwood, Lilly Harwood, Jake Harwood, Jorja Harwood, Meredith Harwood; Great-Great-Grandchild Sidney Harwood.
She is also survived by sister-in-laws Violet Cotter and Louise Harwood and brother-in-law Richard Harwood. She was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband in 1995, daughter Marilyn Jean, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 A.M at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel. Pastor Duane Harris will officiate and burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas, Michigan. Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 from 6-8 P.M.
