Evelyn Lucille Betts, age 76, of St. Louis, MI passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #1400, 610 W. Warwick Drive, Alma, MI, with a brief service at 5:00 P.M.
Lucille was born in Pierce City, Missouri on December 20, 1936, the daughter of Elmer and Neva Irene (Barnes) Conway. She married Zane Winston Betts on June 8, 1963; he passed away on July 27, 1973. Lucille retired from the St. Louis Public Schools cafeteria. She loved crafting, reading, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Letitia "Tish" and John Kennedy of St. Louis, MI, and Pamela Betts and Patty Adolph of Shepherd, MI, 2 granddaughters; Devin Thrush and Emily Thrush; both of St. Louis, MI, 2 grandsons; Grant Goodspeed of Midland, MI and Ebin Goodspeed of Shepherd, MI, 2 great grandsons; Gavin Dringenberg and Jaydan Nisonger, both of St. Louis, MI, 2 sisters; Florene and Wayne Towers of Pierce City, MO, and Lois and Danny Archibeque of Olympia, WA, 1 brother Elmer F. and Sherrill Conway of Freistatt, MO and many extended family and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin infant grandsons; Caleb and Calis Goodspeed, sister Janie Wilks and brother Charles "Ed" Conway.
