Evelyn Ester

Evelyn Ruth Ester, age 75, of Breckenridge, MI died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor James Amstutz will officiate. Burial will take place at Emerson Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Evelyn was born in Alma, Michigan on February 23, 1935, the daughter of George and Ina (Campbell) Northrup. She graduated St. Louis High School with the class of 1953. She married Frank Ester on July 10, 1954 in St. Louis, MI. He passed away June 27, 1984. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of the Ithaca area. She retired from Masonic Pathways after 10 years of service, and was currently working for Gratiot County Commission on Aging Home Care. She loved her family most of all, and enjoyed spending time with them. Evelyn enjoyed her job, and all of the clients she worked with through Commission on Aging.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda and Bill Ringle of Ashley, MI, son Scott and Jennifer Ester of Shelbyville, TN, son Randy and Cheri Ester of Ithaca, MI, son Gary and Kathy Ester of Ithaca, MI, son Brad Ester of Breckenridge, MI, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a sister Viola and Robert Seelman of Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a niece.
