Funeral Services will be held at Edgewood Church of God at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, with Pastor Dave Perry officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 P.M. at Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Evelyn was born in Alma, Michigan on June 13, 1927, the daughter of Fred O. and Emma Angeline (Quidort) Smith. She attended Ithaca High School graduating with the class of 1944. On June 3, 1944, Evelyn married Bernard Charles Green at her parents' home in Ithaca. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 29, 2000.
Evelyn was an active member of the Edgewood Church of God and served in many areas. She was a gifted soloist and was requested to sing for many special events. Evelyn was the Office Manager for the Ithaca Loan Company and the Ithaca Clinic. She was the Gratiot County Friend of the Court for 21 years, retiring in 1992. She also was a 4-H leader for many years and involved with the Gratiot County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her children: Sherilyn (Hank) Ausse of FL; Ellen (Carl) Neumann of AZ; Charles (Connie Malburg) Green of Petoskey,MI; William (Robin) Green of Prudenville, MI; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, 7 siblings: Norris, Cleo, Versel "Bud", Elmoin, Dessa, Iva, and Fredrica.
