Evelyn Joy Hughes age 66 of Corunna, Michigan died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Memorial Healthcare Center Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Mike Prince will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.

Evelyn was born in Mason, Michigan on August 4, 1940 the daughter of Paul and Edith ( Cox ) Laisure. She resided most of her life in in Flint, and Durand until moving to Corunna 10 years ago. She graduated from Newaygo High School. Evelyn married David Hughes in Newaygo on September 2, 1972. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband David Hughes of Corunna, MI, daughter Marcie Moore of Corunna, MI, grandchildren; Danny, Eric, & Stephen, brother: Russel Laisure of Hesperia, MI, sister Doris Williams of Hesperia, MI, sister Sue & Al Bode of Newaygo, MI, brother Shorty Laisure of Newaygo, MI, several nieces & nephews, great nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Peggy & John Mahoney of Burton, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters Betty, Annabelle, Bootsie, and 1 brother Hank.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
