Evelyn Marie Perrigo, age 81, of St. Louis, MI went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Clarence Smith officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M., and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Evelyn was born in Alma, Michigan on November 4, 1931, the daughter of Delbert and Beatrice (Hall) Mathers. She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1949. Evelyn married Randall Perrigo on March 25, 1950 at the Ithaca United Methodist Church in Ithaca, MI. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She retired from Kroger's in Alma after a long career as a cashier and bookkeeper. She was a beautiful seamstress, and made many gowns for weddings and family occasions. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Evelyn also enjoyed her family, especially time with her grandchildren at their cottage and attending their events and activities. She and Randall loved traveling to Florida for many winters. A favorite family memory is of Randall & Evelyn doing the Circle Waltz on roller skates at the St. Louis Roller Rink.
She is survived by her husband Randall Perrigo of St. Louis, MI, 3 daughters; Colleen Gray of Loxahatchee, FL, Denise and Lanny Caverly of Spruce, MI, Julia and Robin DeLong of Riverdale, MI, 5 grandchildren; Bryan Perrigo, Jarod Muscott, Marissa Whitford, Christine DeLong, Shelby Gray, 4 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; Kirstin and Erin Muscott, and Brendan Whitford, sister Bonnie and Buddy Mitchell of Avondale, AZ, and daughter in law Suzan Emerson-Hoogerwerf of Holiday, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Charles Mark Perrigo, brothers; Robert, Elmer, Delbert, Ronald, and Kenneth Mathers, and son in law Robert Sharp.
