Fern Lover

Fern Lover, age 87, of Sandusky, MI formerly of Elsie, MI, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., with Mr. Conrad Hayes officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Fern was born in Ithaca, Michigan on March 21, 1927, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Wilson) Chase. On September 14, 1944, Fern married Harold Lover in Gratiot County, MI; he died on August 3, 1986. Fern formerly owned Wooley's Department Store in Elsie, Michigan. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and putting puzzles together. She also liked to go to the casino.

She is survived by her children Betty Mahmoody, Janet Stilson, Harold 'Pete' Lover, Carolyn (Ken) Becker, Jim (Vickie) Lover, Shirley (Kell) Hoffman, sister Ruth Beck, brother Bud Chase, sister Thelma Cheney, sister Carol Chase, sister Dawn Chase, and sister Norma Chase. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandson Thomas Davis and siblings; Beverly, Jean.
