Florence E. Ringle age 93 of Elsie, Michigan died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Billie Lou Gillespie-Brown will officiate with burial at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. Visitation will be held Friday, July 23, 2004 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Florence was born on April 10, 1911 in Elsie, Michigan the daughter of William Franklin & Alena Mae ( Murray ) Somers. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1929. Florence married John Kenneth Ringle on February 7, 1948 in Ithaca, Michigan. John died in 1955. She was a retired telephone operator from GTE in Alma in 1969 after 35 years of service. Throughout her life she never had a drivera�(TM)s license and yet she always got where she needed to be. She enjoyed knitting and reading. Florence was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church. She resided most of her life in Elsie, Michigan and Florida.
She is survived by her brother James & Vivian Somers of Elsie, MI and 6 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, 1 sister Harriet and 1 brother Alfred.
Memorials may be made to Chapin United Methodist Church, Chapin, MI and Memorial Healthcare Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel
