Florence Stambersky

Florence L. Stambersky, age 88, of Novi, MI formerly of Bannister and Elsie, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Rick Bokinskie officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI. A Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Florence was born in Chardon, Ohio on December 11, 1925, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Nemcik) Kroll. Florence married Stanley Stambersky on September 14, 1946 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI. Florence and Stanley raised their family in Elsie, MI, and spent their golden years traveling between Michigan and Florida. Florence enjoyed watching western movies, dancing, flowers, walking, playing bingo, and watching the birds outside her home. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI.

She is survived by her husband Stanley of Novi, her two sons; Ronald (Toni) Stambersky of Novi, Rick (Susan) Stambersky of Camillus NY, daughter Connie Stambersky of Farmington Hills, MI, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, her two sisters; Doris Garner of Lansing and Shirley (LeRoy) Winans of Shreveport, LA, and several nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Ryan.
