Foster "Crash"Schmidtman

Foster D. "Crash" Schmidtman, 95, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Northville, Michigan. He was born in Pompeii, Michigan, December 10, 1915, the son of Herman and Elizabeth (Foster) Schmidtman. Foster married Florence Sieb on September 17, 1949 in Angola, Indiana and Florence preceded him in death on June 4, 2008. Crash was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elsie and V.F.W. Post #8964. He retired from Gordon Foods as the Head of their Fleet Maintenance.

Crash is survived by his sister, Betty (Glenn) Sandlin and brothers, Richard (Doris) Schmidtman and Dale (Evie) Schmidtman and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and his wife, Foster was preceded in death by his brother, Don Schmidtman.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Elsie at 233 W. Main St. with Rev. Ralph Parkin and Rev. Murl Eastman officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid. The family will receive friends at the church at 11:00 AM. Sympathies may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Elsie or the American Cancer Society. The family was served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
