Frances Best

Age 96 of St. Louis, Michigan died Friday, January 16, 2004 at Schnepp Healthcare Center in St. Louis, Michigan. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and quilting. She grew up in Shepherd, Michigan and moved to St. Louis, Michigan in 1940.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis, Michigan at 11:00 A. M. Rosary will be prayed Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, Michigan.
Frances was born on May 17, 1907 in Glandorf, Ohio, the daughter of John & Mary (Meyer) Hoffman. On September 21, 1933 she married LeRoy Best in Shepherd, Michigan. LeRoy died December 26, 1962. She was a member at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis, Michigan.
Survivors include her 5 children; Kathryn & Frank Deitrich of Burkville, VA, Mary Lou & Bob Wheeler of Alma, MI, Betty Webster of Portland, MI, Dan Best of St. Louis, MI, Joe Best & friend Carol of St. Louis, Michigan, 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, 1 son in-law; John Parsons of Freeland, MI, 1 sister; Mildred Kremsrieter of St. Louis, Michigan, 2 brothers; Bill & Maxine Hoffman of Mason, Michigan, Don & Grace Hoffman of Shepherd, Michigan, 3 sister in-laws; Marie, Alice & Eva Hoffman
She was predeceased by her parents, son, William in 1954, daughter Dorothy Parsons in 1998, sister, Mary Kolhoff, 7 brothers, Alfred, Vincent, Herbert, Otto, Alex, Erwin & John Hoffman, son in law, Richard Kenney.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, Michigan. The family is being served by the Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
