Frances Irene Claflin, age 93, of Stanton, Michigan passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Edmore First Church of God on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Steve Gulick officiating. Burial will take place at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Edmore First Church of God.

Frances was born in Vestaburg, Michigan on February 21, 1921, the daughter of Clarence E. and Rilla M. (Guthrie) Borton. She attended Vestaburg Schools. Frances married Donald Claflin on August 19, 1939 in Orland, IN; he preceded her in death in 1999. Frances was born and raised in Vestaburg and resided in Saginaw for 30 years. She and Don moved to Edmore in 1971, and had resided there until 2000 when she moved to Stanton. She and Don owned and operated K.C. Engineering in Saginaw and Claflin Machine in Edmore for many years. After retirement, Frances worked as a hostess at Burger King in Edmore for several years. She was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed crafts, and ceramics. Frances was very active member at Edmore First Church of God. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by 4 daughters; Kay Gremonprez of Stanton, MI, Dianne Padilla of Stanton, MI, Carol and Ronald Unkel of Saginaw, MI, Connie Claflin of Stanton, MI, 5 grandchildren; Hal Pryor of Detroit, MI, Debra Uhrich of Six Lakes, MI, Linda Coleman of Six Lakes, MI, Laurie Uhrich of Six Lakes, MI, and Kristina and Keith Evans of Six Lakes, MI, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, sister Dorothy Crosby of Alma, MI, brother Dale and Irene Borton of Crystal, MI, and brother in law Dale and Doris Fisher of Sheridan, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, brothers; Harold and Willis, and sisters; Alice and Rosemary.
