Frances Irene (Denman) Gyrunek

      Frances Irene Gyurnek, age 90, of Sumner, MI, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, Michigan.

     Funeral Services will be held at New Haven Church of God at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, with Pastor John Hagerman officiating. Burial will take place at New Haven Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

     Frances was born in Alma, Michigan on October 23, 1932, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Ethel M. (Lauer) Denman. On February 21, 1959, Frances married Thomas W. Gyurnek in Elm Hall. They have been married sixty-four years.  Frances enjoyed going to auction sales and shopping for antiques with Tom. She especially liked to collect antique pickle jars. She was a good cook and enjoyed fixing meals for her family and baking. She did lots of canning. Frances also liked doing embroidery and deer hunting.

     She is survived by her husband Tom and four children: Maynard (Carol Jean) Wilson of Sumner, MI; Dixie Jensen of Ithaca, MI; Bill (Judy) Gyurnek of Sumner, MI; and Brenda Gyurnek of Sumner, MI; four grandchildren: Stacey Wilson, Casie Wilson, Heather (Bill) Smith, and Karen (Matt) Collins; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, one sister Linda (Greg) Ziets, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Denman, her mother Ethel (Ira) Krick, her son Howard (Linda) Wilson, two grandchildren: Gary Wilson and Jamie Wilson, and nine siblings: Carl Denman, Paul Denman, Wesley Denman, Shirley Stonerock, Chuck Denman, Bernard Denman, Floyd Denman, Ken Denman, and Robert Denman.
