Frances Nowak

Frances Nowak, age 91, of Flushing, Michigan passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Oliver Woods Assisted Living, Owosso, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., with Mr. Thomas J. Bradley officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Frances was born in Elsie, Michigan on February 26, 1924, the daughter of John and Anna (Banor) Pospisil. She married Isidore S. Nowak in Florida on November 13, 1996; Izzy died on April 28, 2014. Frances retired from Ternstedt in Flint, Michigan. She was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church Flushing, Michigan and a member of it's Council of Catholic Church Women. She was also a member of Polka Hall of Fame and the Red Hat Society in Florida. Frances enjoyed Czech dancing and traveling. She enjoyed spending their winter's in Florida.

She is survived by 3 children; Barbara and Tony Vargo, Michael and Kathy Fitnich, Constance and Mike Lighthill, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
