Francisco "Kico" Martinez passed away with his family by his side, on April 16, 2013 at the age of 84. Born October 11, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of Miguel and Matilde (Marin) Martinez. Francisco was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns. He retired from Motor Wheel after 39 years and was a member of the A.I.W. #182. On May 8, 1948 in St. Johns, he married Petra (Guerrero) Martinez and she survives him.
Francisco is also survived by his children, Matilde Guerrero, Julia (Arturo) Rodriguez, Susie Sedell, Beatrice (George) Purvis, MarA�a Martinez, Francisco (Mary) Martinez, Jr., Tomas (Lori) Martinez, Elijio (Linda) Martinez, Teresa (Rob) Gagnon, Salvador (Kim Brown) Martinez, Eloisa (Terry) Nadeau, Victoria (Steve) Lischalk, 36 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, one brother, Jose (Enriqueta) Martinez, one sister, Maria (Rojelio) Rosas, sisters-in-law, Olga and Cecilia Martinez, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three children, Herlinda Archer-Groesbeck, Margarita Martinez, Remijio Martinez, Flavio Guerrero (son-in-law), five siblings, Viviano Martinez, Ignacio Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Jr., Juanita Trevino, Cecilia Villa and his parents, Miguel Martinez, Sr. and Matilde Martinez.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 20, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams presiding, and burial following at Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service/rosary at 7 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Memorial contributions may be made in Francisco's memory to The American Lung Association.
