Frank Dudash Sr.

Frank P. "Fritz" Dudash Sr., age 87 of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Friday April 21, 2017 at 12:30 P.M., with Rev. Fr. Bill Gruden officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI with a Vigil and Rosary service at 7:00 P.M.

Frank was born in Ashley, MI on April 14, 1930, the son of Mike and Sophia (Tubiak) Dudash.  He attended Ashley Public Schools and resided most of his life in the Bannister area.

Fritz married Irona Beck in 1951.  Irona preceded him in death.  He married Barbara Jean (Buck) Sovis-Dudash on September 8, 1999 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sandusky, MI.

Fritz was a farmer all of his life.  He retired from Motor Wheel in Lansing.  He enjoyed repairing machinery, especially lawn mowers.  He was very proud of his antique tractors.  He loved to polka and play cards; especially euchre.  He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church.

Fritz is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Theresa Reeves, sister Francis Surdenik, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded by his parents, his first wife Irona, son Frank Dudash Jr., and his brothers and sisters.
