Frank Lukas, age 87, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Ovid Healthcare, in Ovid, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and Friday, April 10, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI.

Frank was born in Ionia, Michigan on May 4, 1921, the son of George and Julia (Langa) Lukas. Frank married Dorothy Stroub on May 3, 1947. Frank drove truck for a number of years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, polka dancing and spending time with his family. Frank resided in Detroit until 1973 and then moved to the Elsie and Owosso area. He was a member of the Eagles Club of Owosso, the Polka Association and the Elsie American Legion Post 502.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Virginia Mohacsi of Ypsilanti, MI, Kay Isaacs of Louisville, KY, Pam Lukas of Taylor, MI, 3 sons; Frank and Marilyn Lukas of Romulus, MI, George and Holly Lukas of South Lyons, MI, Donald and Debbie Lukas of Elsie, MI, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother Edward Lukas of Owosso, MI, 2 sisters; Helen Mlynek of Owosso, MI and Ann Griswald of Ionia, MI. He was predeceased by his parents and 1 brother George Lukas.
