Frank E. Perry, age 92, of Elsie, MI passed on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Covenant HealthCare, Saginaw, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Mark Johnston will officiate and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI.
Frank was born in Rankin, Illinois on July 1, 1916, the son of Edward and Grace (Stamp) Perry. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Frank married Clara Smith on August 11, 1943 at the Chapin Methodist Church. Frank worked as a meat cutter for Peet Packing Company retiring after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and cutting wood to heat his home. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an avid fan of Chesaning High School football, attending games for over 50 years. As he grew older he maintained his great sense of humor.
Frank is survived by his wife Clara, his children; Cheryl Carter of Elsie, Ernest and Marianne Perry of Midland, Vicki Escamilla and her friend Jeff Loos of Oakley, and Beth and Kevin Thompson of Merrill, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother Kenneth Perry of Connecticut, sister-in-law, Mildred Perry of Connecticut, brother-in-law, Harold Smith of Chesaning, sister-in-law, Effie Keck of Bannister, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Donald Perry, 6 brothers, and 7 sisters.
