Frank M. Smalec age 86 of Elsie, Michigan died Friday, November 11, 2005 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan . Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 a�" 3 P.M. and 5:30 to 8 P.M. Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 5:30 P.M. Burial will take place at St. Paula�(TM)s Catholic Cemetery, Owosso, Michigan, Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate.
Frank was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 18, 1919 the son of John & Anna ( Guzy ) Smalec he resided most of his life in the Elsie area. He married Annie Kadera in 1944 at St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan and was a member of St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan, and the Knights of Columbus. Frank farmed and he worked for General Motors ( Oldsmobile) in Lansing, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the polish Union of America, U.A.W. and the Z.C.B.J. Lodge #225. He enjoyed gardening, hunting & fishing and loved to play cards and listen to polkas.
Survivors include his wife Annie Smalec of Elsie, Michigan, 3 daughters, Carolyn & Terry Fuller of Henderson, Kentucky, Sandy & Dawain Riebow of Howell, Michigan, Bonnie & Alvin Schnautz of Evansville, Indiana, 3 sons, John & Oksana Smalec of Tecumseh, Michigan, Terry & Mona Smalec of Rangely, Colorado, Dennis Smalec of Ovid, Michigan, 9 grandchildren Jen, Cori, Joseph, Nicki, Wesley, Alina, Aron, Casey, Cassy, 2 sisters, Nellie Walters of Lakeland, Florida, Stella Krzciuk of California. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters, Cecelia, Josephine, Veronica , 3 brothers, Marion, Joe & Stanley. Memorial can be made to WOES Radio, St. Cyrila�(TM)s Catholic Church or American Lung Association.
