Frank A. Winkler Jr. age 62 of Ovid, MI, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at North Winds Rehabilitation Center, East Lansing, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Ovid, MI on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed Monday evening at 7:00 P.M.
Frank was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 27, 1952, the son of Frank and Geraldine (Holechek) Winkler. He graduated from Ovid Elsie High School with the class of 1970. Frank worked as an electrician. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved cooking and sharing it with his friends. He also enjoyed hosting his annual 'Killing of the Goose Party'. Frank loved his black lab Jennie. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter Chastity and Lynn Behrens, grandchildren; Eliza and Harper Behrens, mother Gerry Winkler, brothers & sisters; John and Loretta Winkler, David Winkler, Suzanne and Dennis Pierce, Mary Beth and Thad Ridsdale, Ric Winkler, Sherry Winkler, Cathy Styczen, good friends; Gene and Jill Ruess, Joan Burnham, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister Theresa Winkler.
