Frank J. Yanik Sr. age 83 of Owosso, Michigan died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Corunna, MI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Fr. David Fisher will officiate with burial at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI. Rosary will be prayed on Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Frank was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 14, 1925 the son of Louis and Mary ( Bilcek ) Yanik. He resided most of his life in Owosso, MI and attended Kirby Schoolhouse. Frank married Elizabeth Ann Myron in Owosso, Michigan on January 25, 1947. She died on August 20, 1995. Frank served in the U.S. Marines during WW II. He played fast-pitch softball in Owosso. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fishing, and he liked to garden. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI. as well as the Knights of Columbus, and the Marine Corp League.

He is survived by 4 sons; Frank & Jean Yanik Jr. of South Haven, MI, Gregory & Debra Yanik of Gurnee, IL, Tim Yanik of Owosso, MI, Chris & Lori Yanik of North Carolina, 5 grandchildren; Alyssia, Danielle, Ryan, Kristen, and Matthew, 2 great grandchildren; Melia & Barrett, and 1 sister Margaret Yanik of Flint, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan
