Frederick Allen "Fred" Crandell

     Frederick Allen “Fred” Crandell, age 75, of Ovid, MI, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

     In keeping with Fred's wishes, a cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

     Frederick was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 29, 1947, the son of Frederick Joseph and Margaret Ann (Carpenter) Crandell. On July 19, 1997, he married Mary Lou Platt in Mason, MI. They were blessed with 25 years of marriage.

     Fred enjoyed feeding the birds. His favorite past time was chasing geese with his RC truck. He loved tractors and going to the Michigan Steam Engine and Thrashers Club Show. Fred was a simple, hardworking man who loved his wife most of all.

     He is survived by his wife Mary Lou; son Jon (Candice) Crandell of Charlotte, MI; three daughters: Terri (Mark) Platt of Mason, MI; Tracie (Dennis) Taylor of Mason, MI; and Tammie Platt of Lakeland, FL; and four grandchildren: James Taylor, Damoen Johnson, Billy Johnson, and Jenna Crandell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Christine Crandell.
