Gareld Grandy

Gareld A. Grandy age 87 of Ithaca, Michigan died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Pine River Healthcare Center St. Louis, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Rolla Timmons will officiate with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Gareld was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on July 10, 1918 the son of Alfred and Fern ( Parks ) Grandy. He resided most of his life in Ithaca, MI. Gareld married Jennie Woodard on June 7, 1941 in Breckenridge, Michigan. He retired from Alma Products on July 1, 1980 after 32 years of service. Gareld enjoyed going for rides in the country to see the work local farmers were doing in the fields. He also enjoyed playing marbles (aggrevation) with his wife and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Jennie Grandy of Ithaca, MI, daughter Joyce & Garlan Denning of Lansing, MI, grandson Trevor Denning of Lansing, MI, granddaughter Tana Denning of Lansing, MI, 3 brothers; Joe & Jane Grandy of Edmore, MI, Leo & Rose Grandy of Crystal, MI, Lee & Shirley Grandy of Midland, MI, and many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, son Gaylord Grandy, brother Dennis Grandy and sister Goldie Losey.

Memorials may be made to Ithaca Senior Activity Building. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
