Gary Fremont Egbert age 86, of Manistee, Michigan, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, Michigan.

A Graveside Services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. for Gary and Iladene.

Gary was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on December 14, 1929, the son of Elmer Fremont "Freed" and Elizabeth W. "Winifred" (Walsh) Egbert.  He was a graduate of St. Louis High School and resided most of his life in Alma and Manistee, Michigan.  Gary married Iladene Lettick on August 19, 1950 in St. Louis, Michigan.  Iladene passed away on July 12, 2016.

Gary held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Gary served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Gary and Iladene were members of the Manistee Elks Lodge.  He worked for Martin-Marietta Refractory in Manistee.  Gary loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed playing golf in his earlier years.

He is survived by 2 daughters; Judy and John Martinez, of Golden, CO, and Brenda Onstott and Jim Brilhart of Ashley, MI, 4 grandchildren; Jessica and Steven Carey, Eric and Krissy Onstott, Nick and Nadine Martinez, Chad and Deirdre Martinez, 10 great grandchildren; Makayla, Megan, Trevor, Eva, Ben, Brayden, Jozef, Payge, Harlie and Emma.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents, wife Iladene, granddaughter Angela Onstott, brother Barry Egbert and sister Sharon (Norris) Bay.
