Gary Grandy

Gary Lee Grandy, age 62, of Weidman, formerly of Ithaca, MI died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Ken Micheff will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12-2 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca.

Gary was born in Alma, Michigan on April 19, 1947, the son of Maynard and Marian (Clark) Grandy. He graduated from Ithaca High School in 1965, joined the Air Force in 1966, served one year in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1970. Gary married Evelyn Weed in 1970; to this union were born Alex and Victoria, leaving 3 lovely grandchildren. On March 16, 1998, Gary married Joyce Schupbach in Las Vegas, NV. Gary lived most of his life in Michigan, working as a surveyor and driving truck through most of the 48 states.

Leaving to miss him, besides his wife Joyce Grandy of Weidman, a son Alex and Kelly Grandy from Naples, FL, a daughter Vickie Grandy Sorensen from Massachusetts, 3 grandchildren; Jacob, Olivia, and Luke, parents Marian and Maynard Grandy of Ithaca, 3 sisters; Bonnie and Dave Field from Naples, FL, Mickey and Galen Miller from Ithaca, MI, and Sue and Dave Engel from Atlanta, MI; along with many friends and relatives.
