Gayle W. Hendee age 83 of Owosso, Michigan died Friday, August 31, 2007 at at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 3, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Gayle was born in Pinckney, Michigan on September 20, 1923 the son of Lynn and Beulah ( Burgess ) Hendee. He resided most of his life in Pinckney, and Owosso, Michigan and graduated from Pinckney High School. He then attended Michigan State College and Cleary Business College. Gayle married Phyllis A. Whiting on August 27, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Gayle retired from the Waste Water Treatment Plant and worked in the Street Deptment. In 1984 they moved to Gulfport Mississippi where they enjoyed visits from family and friends and enjoyed the view of the Gulfuntil August 29, 2005 when they returned to Owosso. Gayle had a great sense of humor. Gayle attended First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Hendee of Owosso, MI, son Dennis L. & Wendy Redinger of Mason, MI, daughter Jill A. & David Redmond of Owosso, MI, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Memorials may be made to Owosso Memorial Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan.
