Gayle Hoffer

Gayle Laverne Hoffer died August 9, 2008, at the age of 68. He was born February 24, 1940, the son of Elton and Julia (Mentor) Hoffer. Gayle lived most of his life in the Ashley-Bannister area where he was a farmer. He was a graduate of Ashley High School and loved gardening and farming.

Gayle is survived by his children, Ken(Barbara) Hoffer of St. Johns, Duane (Marti) Hoffer of Brant and Diane (Kurt) Schurecht of Chicago, his grandchildren Matthew Hoffer and Michael Hoffer, brother Merle Hoffer, sisters Louise Bebee and Eileen (Father Daniel) Simon and sister-in-law Ruth Hoffer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Ervin and Lyle Hoffer.

Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E Cass St., St. Johns, burial at Eureka Cemetery with Rev. Steven Lang officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to NARSAD (National Association for Research of Schizophrenia and Depression).
