George Ade

George LeRoy Ade, age 93, of Corunna, Michigan, died Saturday, July 9th, 2011 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. , Rev. John Walworth will officiate and burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

George was born in Stevenson Township, Wisconsin on October 22, 1917, the son of David Christian and Myrtle Ellen (Watts) Ade.

On January 3, 1939 he married Della L. Manning in Corunna, Michigan. Della predeceased him on January 27, 2006. George had retired from Consumers Power Company after 30 years of service. He resided most of his life in Shiawassee County, George served his country in the US Army during WW2 and was a life member of the Corunna VFW Post.

He is survived by his brother, Nelson Ade of Florida; and many nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Della, 6 sisters, 3 brothers. Memorial may be made to the Corunna VFW Post #4005.
