George Brockway

George H. Brockway, Jr., age 79, of Corunna, MI passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.

George was born in Owosso, Michigan on August 22, 1931, the son of George H. and Ethel (Smith) Brockway, Sr.

George married Angie Hensch on September 1, 1951 in Owosso. She passed away on March 30, 1999. George resided most of his life in Owosso and Corunna. He retired from General Motors, working at GM Metal Fabricating in Flint. George was a past member of the Owosso Eagles. He was an avid softball player and bowler in earlier years and loved to gamble. George served his country in the U.S. Army serving in the Military Police at Fort Hood, Texas.

George is survived by his daughter Victoria Schlaud of Columbiaville, MI, son Walter and Carolyn Brockway of Owosso, MI, son Alan and Julie Brockway, Sr. of Lillington, NC, daughter Barbara and Paul Walker of Vassar, MI, grandchildren; Aaron Wood, Summer Brockway, Tanya Brockway, Alan Brockway, Jr., Sarah Walker and Skye Walker, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 7 brothers and sisters.
