George Bunce

George William Bunce age 75, of Owosso, MI, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Hospice of Mid Michigan, Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1:00 P.M.  Burial will take place at Stilson Cemetery, Clinton County, MI.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

George was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 15, 1941, the son of George Henry and Christabell Julia (Stiver) Bunce. He graduated from Ovid High School with the class of 1959.  George served his country in the United States Navy.

George married Evelyn Massie on June 16, 1961 in South Norfolk, Virginia. George retired from General Motors after 35 years of service as a Skilled Tradesman. He was a member of the UAW local 599. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and bowling. George was a carpenter at heart. It was very special to him that he spent time with his son and grandson building his son's home. Most of all George loved spending time with his family and his dog Lady.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Evelyn Bunce of Owosso, MI, son  Wayne and Ann Marie Bunce of Laingsburg, MI, grandchildren; Jessica Bunce, Jason  Bunce, Jillian and Ryan Grubaugh, 2 great granddaughters; Khloe and Aubrey Grubaugh, 2 sisters; Linda and Dave Beachler, Mary  Bunce and his dog Lady.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Green.
