George Conn

George Richard "Sam" Conn, age 74, of Breckenridge, MI passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at home with his family by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church St. Louis, MI on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Father James W. Bessert officiating. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

George was born in St. Joseph, Michigan on February 28, 1938, the son of George and Helen (Hackenberg) Conn. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1957.

George married Irma Jean Collins on September 5, 1959 at Mt. St. Joseph Church in St. Louis, Michigan. George was a truck driver all of his life, retiring from Medler Electric in 2000. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and antique tractors. He was a member of the A-Tractive Tractor Club. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. They were the apple of his eye.

He is survived by his wife Irma Conn of Breckenridge, MI, son George and Kelly Conn of Breckenridge, MI, daughter Linda Gronda & Greg Price of Breckenridge, MI, and son Geoffry and Kari Conn of St. Louis, MI. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. George is preceded in death by his parents, mother & father in law and grandson, Matthew Gronda.
