George Davidson

George Jacob Davidson, age 95, of Alma, MI passed away on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Alma, MI on Tuesday, January 26th at 11:00 A.M. , Grandson Pastor Dennis Strong will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.

George was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on May 3, 1914, the son of John Horatio and Sophronia Gaynelle (Bundy) Davidson. He attended Jack Day Country School in Pine River Township. He was married to Bertha (Olson) Davidson on March 21, 1936 in Holton, MI. She passed away December 7, 2008. George was a lifelong farmer and resident of Alma. He attended Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Alma, MI. He had served as a Gratiot County Commissioner, served as an ASC committeeman, EightCap Committee, and was a past 4H Leader.

He is survived by his daughter Gladys and Maynard Strong of Remus, MI; son Earl and Rebecca Davidson of Alma, MI; son Lawrence and Virginia Davidson of St.Louis, MI; daughter Louise and Bill Courter of Alma, MI; son Jake and Kimberly Davidson of St.Louis, MI; son Clarence Davidson of Alma, MI; daughter Esther Morris of DeWitt, MI; 25 Grandchildren; 55 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; sister Mable Rose Schurkamp of Canton, MI; 2 half brothers, and 2 half sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bertha, a great grandson Joshua Bebow, a brother Ralph Davidson, a sister Thelma Haugen, son in law Homer Morris, and nine half brothers & sisters.
