George Hessbrook Sr. age 79 of Ithaca, Michigan died on Tuesday, August 02, 2005 at Ashley Healthcare Center, in Ashley, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, Michigan, Sister Margo Tafoya will officiate and visitation will be Thursday 2- 8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
George was born in New Braunfels, Texas on September 25, 1925, the son of Albert & Sarah ( Settlers ) Hessbrook. He moved his family to Ithaca 50 years ago. On September 20, 1946 he married Teresa Guzman in Edinburg, Texas. He retired from Thor Fabrication in Lansing, Michigan, and also a member of St. Paula�(TM)s Apostil Catholic Church, Ithaca, Michigan.
George served his country in WW2 in the U.S. Navy he was a longtime little league coach and was a great sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching his children play high school sports. He also loved gardening.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Hessbrook of Ithaca, Michigan, 1 daughter, Norma & Stuart Netzley of Ithaca, Michigan, 4 sons, George & Linda Hessbrook of Chippewa Lake, Michigan, Gary & Barbara Hessbrook of Ithaca, Michigan, Todd & Sherri Hessbrook of Ithaca, Michigan, Terry & Kristy Hessbrook of Ithaca, Michigan, 10 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Sarah & Pete Martinez of Elcampo, Texas, Dora Nelson of Duncan, Oklahoma, 1 brother, Raymond & Eve Hessbrook of Waco, Texas, many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 sisters & 6 brothers. Memorials can be made to Ashley Healthcare Center, Ashley, Michigan or St. Paula�(TM)s Apostle Catholic Church, Ithaca, Michigan.
