George J. Kubala Sr. age 82 of Bancroft, MI passed away Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Paula�(TM)s Episcopal Church in Corunna on Monday April 18, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Russell Merrill will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel on Saturday, April 16, 2005 from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday, April 17, 2005 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
George was born on May 15, 1922 in Granger, Texas the son of Frank & Herminia (Rozsky ) Kubala. He married Elizabeth M. Hoag in January 16, 1954.George worked 35 years for General Motors Truck and Bus Group Flint Metal Fabrication. He was a journeyman in Die Tryout Group in Master Mechanics Department. He was a member of St. Paula�(TM)s Episcopal Church in Corunna, MI. He was also a life member of VFW Post #9455, 36th Division Association, 141st Infantry Association, as well as a member of the 36th Division National Museum Foundation. George enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include one son George Kubala Jr. of Morrice, MI, one daughter Angle Blanton of Bancroft, MI, daughter-in-law Robbin, 3 grandchildren; David, Tammy, & Joshua, 2 great grandchildren; Alyssa & Denzil. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, his mother & father, 3 brothers; Raymond, Frank & Jerry, one sister Alice Tschoepe.
