George Eugene Sills

      George Eugene Sills, age 77, of Laingsburg, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.
     Cremation has taken place and a celebration of George's life will be held at a later date. Please contact the family for details regarding the service.
     George was born in Port Huron, MI, on June 23, 1947, the son of Richard and Josephine Julia (Secord) Parmenter. George married Patricia Lynne (Graves) on May 25, 1979, in Lansing, MI.
     George worked at Motor Wheel for 23 years; then continued his career in automotive parts sales. He enjoyed traveling across the country to visit salvage yards in an effort to find rust free parts for friends and family. He cherished spending time with family and going to out to eat, to which the phrase "I get the bill" would undoubtedly be said. He made the best root beer floats for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, or had some sort of candy to give them during visits. He enjoyed going to watch his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at sporting events. Later in life he looked forward to puzzles with his great grandchildren, taking a ride in the car and the occasional garage sale.
     He is survived by his wife Patty Sills, his children: Melissa Sills, Monica and Roy Smithkey, George Sills II, Jason and Leisa Burt, Erin and Becky Sills, James and Sarah Sills, and Jayme and Dan Grubaugh, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Genevieve Keener, and his brother Wayne Parmenter. He was preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Richard Parmenter, brothers: James Sills, Richard Parmenter II, and his sister Josephine Squibb.
