Gerald Gene Cross Sr. "Jerry" age 73 of Ypsilanti, Michigan died Monday, April 7, 2014 peacefully at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Jerry was born in Owosso, MI on July 26, 1940 to Bill and Ellen (Wheatley) Cross. He lived most of his life in the Elsie and Ypsilanti areas. Jerry retired from Ford Motor Company Rawsonville Plant after 34 years of faithful service. His passion was for cars, whether he was working on his 1966 Mercury Parklane Convertible, finding the next car for his collection or sitting at his desk for hours working on a model. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments.

He is survived by his loving wife MaryAnn, 2 children; Butch (Debbie) Cross and Bill Cross, 2 grandchildren; Nicholas Cross and Daniel Cross, 1 brother Bill Cross, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bill and Ellen Cross, brother Bob Cross and sister in law June Cross.
