Gerald Dick

Gerald Lynn Dick, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the age of 84.

Gerald, known to many as Jerry, was born on January 10, 1936 in Lansing, MI to Valette and Cassie (Peck) Dick. He enlisted in the Navy on January 12, 1955. On August 22, 1959 he married Julia (Judy) Elizabeth Sopocy. They raised two sons, Bryan and Scott. After his military service, he worked at General Motors as a Diemaker for 32 years.

He was known for his woodworking skill and enjoyed sharing this passion with his children and grandchildren. His backyard was a sanctuary for the local wildlife, all of whom he kept very well fed. He was also an avid golfer.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Valette, his mother, Cassie, his brother, Paul, and his sister, Joan. He is survived by his wife, Julia, his two sons: Bryan and Deb, and Scott and Tracey, his seven grandchildren: Luis, Matthew, Eric, Ashley, Jordan, Chelsea, and Christopher, and his five great-grandchildren, Natalia, Elia, Carlos, Nadia, Malia, and Kirkland.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.
