Gerald Fairbanks

Gerald "Jack" Fairbanks, age 97, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 1:00 P.M., Rev. David R. Strobe will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, MI.

Gerald was born in Durand, Michigan on February 28, 1914, the son of Benjamin H. and Anna (Whitehead) Fairbanks. He resided most of his life in Owosso.

Jack married Katherine Bursik in October of 1930. She passed away in December of 2000. Jack retired from Swanson Manufacturing as a Design Engineer. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

Jack is survived by his son Dick Fairbanks of Owosso, MI, daughter Gala White of Corunna, MI, grandchildren; Claudia Fairbanks of Owosso, MI, David White of Corunna, MI & Timothy and Hua White of Holland, MI, great grandchildren; Kimberly Fritzsche & Carissa White, 2 half sisters; Sarah Jane Erickson & Janice Fairbanks. He is also survived by Danielle Miller who was like a granddaughter to him. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Douglas Fairbanks, daughter-in-law Marilyn Fairbanks, son-in-law Ford White and a half brother Irwin Borst.
