Gerald Fedewa

Gerald Joseph Fedewa age 87, of Pewamo, Michigan, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, Michigan, on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Fr. Charlon Mason officiating.  Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 1-3 and 5-8 PM, at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI, with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 P.M.

Gerald was born in Westphalia, Michigan on June 18, 1929, the son of Julius and Gertrude (Simon) Fedewa.  Gerald married Lucille Smith on July 11, 1950 in Westphalia, MI.  He resided most of his life in Pewamo and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, MI.

Gerald will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  One of the highlights of Gerald's life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was a life long Dairy Farmer.  Gerald was a First Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He loved camping, fishing and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.  Gerald also enjoyed playing cards, especially Wednesday afternoons in Pewamo with friends.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Lucille Fedewa, his children; Arlene (Randy) Telesz, Tom Fedewa, Michael (Kimberly) Fedewa, Judy (Harv) Whitman, Susie (Mike) Klein, Al Fedewa, Patty (Stephen) Fox, 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, brother Francis Fedewa, sister Monica Hatt, sisters-in-law; Aggie Fedewa, Mary (Marvin) Schafer, Marilyn Smith, and brother-in-law Jerome (Carleen) Smith.  Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Annette (Gerard) Fedewa, son-in-law Jim Lunde, brother Marvin Fedewa, sisters-in-law; Viola Fedewa, Loretta (Alvin) Thelen, and JoAnn (Ernie) Thelen, brothers-in-law; David Hatt, Carl (Rose) Smith, Delbert (Rosaline) Smith and James Smith.
