Gerald "Jerry" Ross, age 83, of St. Louis, MI died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Schnepp Health Care Center , St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alma, MI on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Rev. John Eich will officiate. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 6-8 PM and on Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel.
Jerry was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on January 24, 1925, the son of Robert Paul and Ida (Lintner) Ross. He attended Davison Fractional School in St. Louis. Jerry married Beatrice F. Oswald in St. Louis, MI on June 3, 1943. She died on February 15, 2005. Jerry was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. He was a lifelong farmer, and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alma.
He is survived by daughter Kathleen and James Johnson of St. Louis, MI, son Gerald and Betty Ross Jr. of Burr Oak, MI, son Robert and Caroline Sue Ross of St. Louis, MI, daughter Laura Lee and Bruce Harrier of St. Louis, MI, son Thomas and Vickie Ross of St. Louis, MI, son Tracy and Carla Ross of St. Louis, MI, 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a sister in law Harriet Ross of Shepherd, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife "Bea", 3 grandchildren; Angela, Daniel, and Andrew Ross, and a brother Edwin Ross.
