Gerald Joseph Stambersky age 73 of Elsie, Michigan died April 19, 2006 at Edward Sparrow Hospital Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on April 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 from 2-8 with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Gerald was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 29, 1932 the son of Joseph and Sophia ( Pointek )Stambersky . He resided most of his life in Elsie, Michigan. Gerald married Carol Jean Solomon on November 19, 1954 in Angola, Indiana. Carol died October 22, 2003. He retired from G.M. in 1986 after 33 years of service. He owned and operated a lawncare business in Elsie. He liked listening and dancing to polka music, flying remote control airplanes, and traveling in the winter to Arizona.

He is survived by 3 sons Laurence Stambersky of Glasgow, KY, Neil & Kristi Stambersky of Ovid, MI, Steven & Colleen Stambersky of Flushing, MI, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Johanna Kristin of Bannister, MI, special friend Emma Merrill of Corunna, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, and brother David.
Memorials may be made to WOES Polka Radio Program. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
