Geraldine E. "Jerry" Carter, age 89, of Elsie, Michigan died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 surrounded by her family at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Edwin Snook officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Geraldine was born in Elsie, Michigan on November 29, 1922, the daughter of Alfred Carlston and Lillian Lorraine (Burdick) Morley. She graduated from Elsie High School. On December 26, 1943 she married Kelley E. Carter in Elsie, Michigan. Kelley died on June 22, 1986. Jerry resided all of her life in the Elsie area. Jerry along with her husband were owners of the Carter Funeral Home in Elsie, Michigan. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing and knitting. She was a member of the OES # 69 Elsie, the Elsie Literary Club and Elsie American Legion Post Auxiliary.

Jerry is survived by daughter Kella Jean Carter of Lapeer, MI, 2 sons; Ross Eugene and Diane Carter of Grand Haven, MI, Mark Eugene and Michelle Carter of Holland, MI, grandchildren; Lindsay Marie Carter of Vail, CO, Kelley Ross Carter of Grand Haven, MI, Kemri Michelle Carter of Holland, MI, Brad Eugene Carter of Holland, MI, and Ben Levi Carter of Holland, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Kelley, her twin sister Josephine and brother Robert Morley.
