Gertrude Louise "Trudie" (Laperriere) Elliott, age 76, of St. Louis, MI passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church St. Louis, MI on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI.

Trudie was born in Portland, Maine on February 22, 1936, the daughter of Joseph Alexander and Gertrude Louise (Filieo) Laperriere. Trudie married Charles Raymond Elliott on December 20, 1969 in Portland, ME.

Trudie was an officer for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Chosin Division and a percussionist in the Central Michigan Area Concert Band. She also enjoyed playing in the bell choir at the First United Methodist Church. In the past, Trudie was involved with Girl Scouts of America, Gratiot Community Players and Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed music, dancing, photography, and cuddling with her cat, Encore. She served her country in the U.S. Navy and as an Air Force Reservist. Most of all she loved helping others and was dedicated to her family.

She is survived by her children: Katheryn Elliott of St. Johns, MI; Laurence Elliott of St. Louis, MI; Brian (Desiree) Elliott of Glendale, AZ; Susan (Joseph) Czeiszperger of St. Louis, MI; Brenda Elliott of London, England; Geoff Elliott of St. Louis, MI. Her grandchildren: Cameron, Jared and Erynn Kolhoff, Brandon and Avery Elliott, Sarah and Emily Czeiszperger. Her siblings: Joseph (Lelia) Laperriere of Cypress, TX, Francis (Patricia) Laperriere of South Portland, ME, Dorothy (Dennis) Berry of Gray, ME, and Florence Keeler of Roscommon, MI. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and her close, dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents, sister Joan Foster, and brothers Joseph and James LaPerriere.
