Gladys Cartwright age 88 of Ashley, Michigan died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, Michigan
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Wade Hall will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 3-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel
Gladys was born in Maple Rapids, Michigan on February 26, 1916 the daughter of Thad & Elva ( Richards ) Kidder. She graduated from Maple Rapids High School. Gladys married Francis Cartwright. He died May 7, 1982. She was a homemaker and she lived for her children.
She attended Ashley Wesleyan Church and resided most of her life in Maple Rapids and Ashley, Michigan.
She is survived by her daughter Joann & Norman Johnson of CA, son Thad & Connie Cartwright of Ashley, MI, daughter Susan & Melvin Poling of Alma, MI, daughter Margaret Wise of Ashley, MI, son Leonard "Bill" & Linda Cartwright of Ashley, MI, daughter Mary & Dave Redman of St. Johns, MI, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 brothers Richard & Carol Kidder of Cedar Springs, MI, Jack & Carol Kidder of Harrison, MI, son-in-law Dean Ball of Portland, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son Charles Cartwright, daughter Jean Ann Ball, & son-in-law John Wise.
