Gladys Elnora Dobbrastine, age 84, of Edmore, MI died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Carson City Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Edmore on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor William Twynham officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore, MI.
Gladys was born in McBride, Michigan on September 11, 1925, the daughter of Myles and Beatrice (Peterson) Hansen. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Edmore, and attended Dopp Grade School and Edmore High School. Gladys retired from Hitachi Magnetics in 1998 aftrer 22 years of service. She was also a homemaker and was proud to be a farmers daughter. She had also worked at Maxfields Resturant. Gladys enjoyed gardening and sewing, and was a member of the GFWC Women's Club in Edmore. She was also the past president of the Retirees U.A.W.
She is survived by her 3 children; Diane Linton of Greenville, MI, Sherry and Larry D. Jensen of Blanchard, MI, Terry Dobbrastine and wife Becky of Edmore, MI, 7 grandchildren; Mike Thomsen and family of Hale, MI, Michele Nemeth and family of Six Lakes, MI, Jay Linton and family of Greenville, MI, Tony Linton and family of Indianapolis, IN, Kaitlyn Dobbrastine of Edmore, MI, Tonya Lott and family of Vestaburg, MI, and Heather Wright and family of Stanton, MI, 14 great grandchildren; brother Jim and Pauline Hansen of Battle Creek, MI, 3 sisters; Arlene Wagner of Mason, MI, Shirley and Dick Torrey of Tawas City, MI, and Mary and Carl Harter of Carson City, MI. Gladys was predeceased by her parents, a daughter Marcia Thomsen, and a brother in law Francis Wagner.
