Glenn E. Dringenberg age 79 of St. Louis, Michigan died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Rev. Fr. Martin will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Glenn was born in Weston, Illinois on June 30, 1926 the son of Henry and Dena ( Raverts ) Dringenberg. He resided most of his life in St. Louis, Michigan. Glenn married Leona Daymon on May 2, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. She died September 11, 1980.
Glenn served in the US Army during World War II & the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1986. He was an avid gardener, and he liked to can vegetables from his garden. He was a great cook. Glenn enjoyed woodworking and fishing and he loved his cats. He also loved to spend time with his great grandchildren. The family would like to make a special thank you to Chuck and Family for their friendship throughout the years. He was a member of the VFW, CSA and the Moose Lodge #1566.
He is survived by 4 children; Dawn & Gene Root of Alma, MI, Cindy & Lee Fabela of St. Louis, MI, Kim Dringenberg of St. Louis, MI, Penny Dringenberg of St. Louis, MI, 6 grandchildren; Mike & Jammie Root, Justin, Lee, & Trevor Fabela, Danessa Dringenberg, 3 great grandchildren; Darren, Victoria, & Mariah, 1 brother Hank & Ruth Dringenberg of St. Louis, MI and 1 sister Ruth Coleman of St. Louis, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, an infant son, sister Amelia Howd, and 2 brothers Edward and Kenneth.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
